7 Healthy Snacks That Will Help Curb Your Cravings
One of the most stressful parts of maintaining a healthy diet, or sticking to a weight loss plan is keeping cravings at bay. We often spend so much time worrying about what we can’t have, keeping those sugary treats and drinks on our minds all of the time. Stop worrying about what you can’t have, and start focusing on what you CAN have like these 7 delicious and healthy snacks to help you kick the cravings!
1. STEAMED VEGGIES WITH HUMMUS
Sometimes we’re not sure what we’re craving, we just know that we want something warm, and full of flavor. Steamed veggies and hummus is one of our favorites at Kaia FIT. We often serve cold veggies with hummus, which is equally as delicious, but doesn’t give us that warm and satisfied feeling that steamed veggies do! So pick your favorites, cauliflower, carrots, Brussel sprouts or green beans galore. Cook ‘em up and dip in some hummus and you’ll be on your way to feeling great! Try our Kaia homemade hummus 1 1/2 cups chickpeas, 1 teaspoon sea salt, 2 lemons juiced, 4 cloves garlic, chopped, 1 cup filtered water, 1 pinch paprika, Blend until creamy, refrigerate and serve!
2. CUCUMBER W/ LIME & CAYENNE PEPPER
Need a refreshing treat, but craving a little bit of a zing? Slice up a cucumber; add a dash of lime, and your favorite spice! Cucumbers are great for cooling down the inflammatory response in our bodies, and are an awesome source of fiber and water! Note: You can substitute the cayenne pepper with chili pepper or hot sauce!
3. WATERMELON W/ CHILI POWDER
Savory and Sweet, dice up some watermelon and add some chili powder to really nip that salty/sour craving in the bud!
4. APPLE & NUT BUTTER
Slice up your favorite apple, and dip in your favorite nut butter! Super quick, nourishing, and delicious!
Sea plants are a great source of iron, and roasted seaweed is light and crunchy! The perfect afternoon treat!
6. CELERY, NUT BUTTER, & RAISINS (AKA ANTS ON A LOG)
Whether you’re harnessing your inner child and making ants on a log or just chowing down, celery, nut butter, and raisins are a fiber filled, protein packed, tasty treat!
7. ROASTED CHICK PEAS
The perfect alternative to that big bag of chips! Just lay out on a cookie sheet, drizzle with olive oil and bake for 45 min at 400 degrees. Mix it up and make your own salt & vinegar roasted chick peas, just add white vinegar and some salt!
