CACAO BEET SMOOTHIE RECIPE

Beetroot and chocolate has fast become a classic combo. Even if you aren’t a fan of them, I promise you this smoothie will change your mind! Beets are packed full of vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, potassium, iron, Vitamin A, B, and C, and are wonderful for cleansing the body by purifying the blood and detoxifying the liver. The benefits of consuming beets is endless and this is a great way to start consuming this healthy vegetable.

Ingredients:

1 cup almond milk (or coconut milk)

2 small beets

1/2- 1 whole avocado

1/2- 1 cup raspberries

2 tsp vanilla extract or a vanilla pod

Couple tbsp raw cacao

Pinch of cinnamon

Optional add-ins: raw cacao nibs, chia seeds, hemp hearts

Preparation:

*Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.

*I added hemp hearts to mine for an added boost of protein.

*Add a sprinkling of chia seeds and raw cacao nibs on top to make it that little bit more “chocolatey!”
