5 Workout Tips For Busy Moms

Being a mom is hard, most likely the hardest thing you will ever have to do—but also the most rewarding. It can be difficult to find time for yourself, nonetheless to workout. Between chauffer and PTA duties, working out is probably the last thing on your mind when in reality it should be one of the first. It’s like when you’re on a flight, and the stewardess tells you that in case of a change in cabin pressure put your mask on before helping others; you have to take care of yourself in order to take care of others! Don’t worry though, you’re not in it alone and we’ve got your back! Here are Kaia FIT’s top 5 workout tips for your busy life:

1. GET UP EARLY!

When you put the kids to bed, put yourself to bed, and give yourself an extra hour or so in the morning to get your workout in. Whether it’s a morning jog or making it to that early workout class, commit to getting up and making it happen!

2. PLAN YOUR WORKOUT AHEAD OF TIME

The time for excuses has passed, plan ahead for your workout and make it non-negotiable. Lay out your clothes, shoes, and gear the night before so that it’s ready for you when you wake up. Make it a ritual you can’t live without!

3. MAKE EVERYTHING A WORKOUT!

Park further in the parking lot so you have to walk, get excited to push the stroller a little bit faster, and when you’re holding the baby do some squats. Work movement and exercises into everything you do. You’ll burn more calories doing calf raises while folding laundry then you would just standing there! Get after it!

4. INVOLVE THE KIDS

Take the kids to the park and run around with them! Do the monkey bars, not only will you get a good workout but your kids will think you’re super cool. Plan a family soccer game, or basketball game, play tag or even tug o’ war. Keep your kids active, and join in on the fun!

5. DON’T BE HARD ON YOURSELF

Being a mom is extremely hard, and it’s okay to forgive yourself and cut yourself a break sometimes. Motherhood in itself is a workout, so enjoy the time with your family, and have tons of fun!
